FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the free in-home consultation work?
Book online or by phone and we come to your home with samples. We measure every window precisely, walk you through fabric, color and motorization options in your actual lighting, and give you a same-day quote. No fee, no obligation, no pressure.
What window treatments are best for energy savings?
Cellular (honeycomb) shades are the top performer — their air-trapping cells insulate against both Virginia summer heat and winter cold. Double- and triple-cell construction maximizes savings on heating and cooling bills. Plantation shutters also add year-round structural insulation.
How long does a custom order take?
Typical lead time is 2–3 weeks from order to installation. Moving into a new home? Ask about our move-in-ready options so you have privacy from day one.
Do you serve my area?
We serve all of Northern Virginia — Prince William, Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington, Fauquier and Frederick Counties and Alexandria — for homes and businesses. We also take on commercial, government and window film projects in Washington DC, Montgomery, Prince George's and Frederick Counties in Maryland, and Jefferson and Berkeley Counties in West Virginia. See all service areas or call (571) 260-0072.
Is motorization available on all products?
Yes — every product line we carry can be motorized, with app, remote and voice control. See our motorization page for details.
Do you install window film or solar film?
Yes. We install solar control, UV and fade protection, privacy, decorative and safety/security window film for homes, offices and government buildings, and often pair film with shades. See our window film page.
Do you work on government and commercial projects?
Yes. BlindsElite LLC is registered in SAM.gov, is a Virginia DPOR-licensed contractor and is woman-owned. We supply and install contract-grade shades, blinds, motorization and window film, directly or as a subcontractor. See government contracting.
